What's In It For Me?
I'm sure you've all heard the old addage "What's in it for me?" It's the foundation most sales letters are based on, and illustrating how a product or service benefits people is paramount.
But, like anything else, it can be taken too literally.
Some people (and there are too many to mention here on this little blog) will have nothing to do with you if you don't give away the farm at their request. These people don't have any belief in respect, friendship, respect, networking, respect, etc.
"Show Me The Money" or you don't deserve my time. That's their motto. The hard-sell is their only comfort, the almighty dollar their fix.
I genuinely feel sorry for these people. Yet I have no desire to associate with them. I'd rather spend the time building wealth through friendship and teaching/learning.
Say "Hello" to me, rather than "Buy Now." Because whenever I can, I buy from people I respect, and respect me in return.
I hope people see me in the same light. I try.
